Irresponsible Report: CNN Should Get Serious Sanction-Lai Mohammed
Nigeria’s Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed has described as irresponsible reporting the features story done by CNN on the Lekki Shooting of Tuesday, October 20.
Mohammed who was speaking at a news conference on Thursday, November 19, described the alleged killing at the Lekki Toll Gate as a “massacre without bodies”.
He also said CNN was irresponsible in its report, adding that the news medium deserves serious sanction.
“This should earn CNN a serious sanction for irresponsible reporting.”
Recall that on Wednesday, November 18, CNN had published its investigation on the incident, alleging that soldiers used live bullets on #EndSARS protesters who had converged at Lekki Toll Gate on October 20.
However, the army has continued to insist that its men only fired blank bullets in the air to disperse the protesters.
