A prophecy by Primate Babatunde Ayodele of Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church, has come to pass.

In the 2022/2023 and beyound edition of Warnings To The Nation, Primate Ayodele said that salaries of civil servants will be increased.

Primate Ayodele said; “In Nigeria, the salaries of civil servants will be upwardly reviewed.”

Though the man of God did not specify the situation that would lead to the wage increase, the removal of petrol subsidy had led to some state government announcing a positive review of minimum wage in fulfilment of Primate Ayodele’s prophecy.

In Edo State, Governor Godwin Obaseki announced the reduction of work days from five to three for civil servants in abide to cushion the effect of the subsidy removal on them. The governor also confirmed a review of the state’s minimum wage from 30,000 to 40,000.

In a statement released on Wednesday, June 7, Governor Obaseki, said his government shared the pains of the people and assured them that his administration will stand with them “in these very challenging times”.

He also said his administration would do all within its power to ameliorate the sufferings of residents.

“In the wake of fuel subsidy removal by the federal government, fuel prices have increased astronomically, leading to a rise in prices of goods and services and overall cost of living. As a proactive government, we have since taken the step to increase the minimum wage paid to workers in Edo State from the approved N30,000 to N40,000, the highest in the country today.

“We want to assure you that we will continue to pay this amount, while we hope to increase it even further if more allocation accrues to our state from the federal government in view of the expected savings occasioned by the removal of the fuel subsidy,” Obaseki added.
