I Was Paid N200,000 To Kill Family Of Three, Suspect Confesses

A suspected arsonist  has revealed how he was paid N200,000 to kill a family of three in Kano State.

 

Salisu ldris was arrest for his culpability in a fire incident that led to the death of a family of three last Wednesday.

The fire incident led to the death of a couple and their 2 year-old daughter who were burnt beyond recognition at Gayawa Tsohuwa village, Ungogo local government area.

Idris who claimed to be a mobile phone seller at Farm Centre market in Kano city, revealed that he wanted to use the  money from the deal to enroll in Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano.

“A friend of mine asked me to accompany him to the house. He asked me to come along with him and that at the end of the operation he will give me N200, 000. We came around 2 pm. And when we came we both climbed unto the building with petrol and immediately the fire started, it caught me and burnt my hands and legs,” Idris said.

Idris was traced and arrested after he tried to seek treatment at a local clinic in the community for the burns he had sustained during the arson attack.

Confirming the incident, Kano State police spokesperson, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said Idris was nabbed after the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, gave an order to arrest the perpetrator of the dastardly act within 24 hours.

“On Wednesday around 3am we received a report of a strange fire incident from Gayawa Tsohuwa in Ungogo local government area which we promised to investigate.

Kiyawa, a deputy superintendent of police told journalists that “using our community policing strategies, we were able to trace, track and arrest one person by name Salisu Idris of Gayawa Gabas village in the same ungogo local government area. We traced him and arrested him with some wounds on his body,”

The Police local image maker said “we interrogated him and we found out that they were two that carried out the act and the other one is at large and very soon we’ll get him.”
