How Ex-Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi Died

Erstwhile governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, is dead.

Ajimbi died on Thursday, June 25, at the age of 70.

Information emerging revealed that the man who has been on life support for almost a week died at First Cardiology Hospital Ikoyi, Lagos State.

He reportedly died after slipping into a coma having not recovered from a Coronavirus infection made worse by complications from other health challenges.

Recall that there had been reports that Ajimobi was recovering and getting better before the report of his death.

A source disclosed that the former Oyo governor had lung surgery, but failed to make significant progress afterward. His case was worsened when his kidneys failed.

Doctors treating Ajimobi, it was reliably gathered, last Friday informed his family that his situation had defied every medical intervention and that only a miracle could bring him back to life.

The ex-governor succumbed to death at First Cardiology Hospital Ikoyi, Lagos State, where several prominent Nigerians including late Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, who was also treated for the Coronavirus died.
