A captain who abandons ship is never celebrated like that who salvage his sinking vessel.

There is hardly anyone who understands this theory like Adetokunbo Abiru, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Polaris Bank.

Brought in to salvage a sinking ship in Skye Bank Plc, the innovative and resilient banker rose to the occasion, striving to save the dying financial institution.

Unfortunately, he realised too late that little could be done with an apple rotten from within.

Thus when Abiru became the boss of an abridged financial institution in Polaris Bank, naysayers were quick to call for his head.

Today, accolades are pouring for the man who has not only led Polaris Bank to an enviable height but has done it with a lot of finesse.

A year after being announced the boss of the bank, Abiru and his team at the financial institution have announced a profit of N27.8 billion, attracting immeasurable accolades.
