Men suspected to be armed bandits have opened fire on the convoy of the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom.
The convoy of the governor came under gunfire on Saturday, afternoon, March 20, along the Makurdi-Gboko highway.
No arrests have been made following the attack on the governor.
According to reports, there was a heavy exchange of gunfire between the attackers and the governor’s security officials.
Ortom was said to be returning to Makurdi from Gboko when the incident happened.
