Foreign Movies: Desmond Elliot Lands In Big Trouble

Thespians and politician, Desmond Elliot, has come under serious attack for calling for the ban of foreign movies in Nigeria.
The actor who represents Surulere constituency at the Lagos State House of Assembly had called for the ban of western films during an interview, adding that such an action would encourage the growth of Nollywood.
According to him, the ban on foreign films in Nigeria will encourage the growth of Nollywood.
He encouraged the Federal Government to make it difficult for foreign content to come into the country, as to encourage the local industry.
However, his position doesn’t appear to be a popular one, especially among Nigerians, as they have been criticising him since the statement.
