The Federal Government of Nigeria has reacted to a video in which an unknown officer accused Nigerians in Ghana of spending fake Dollars.

The government reacted through the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM).

In a statement released by NIDCOM on Thursday, October 8, the commission cautioned against such deliberate attempt at tainting the nation’s image.

NIDCOM added that it had forwarded the video to INTERPOL for proper investigation as it is stark carelessness for anyone to make such a weighty accusation without any proof.

Picking holes in the video, the agency noted that the identity of the officer in question was unknown, as he did not reveal his identity as he showcased the supposed bundles of fake money.

Further, NIDCOM wondered why the purported Nigerian vehicle in which the money was found was not displayed like the money, questioning the possibility that the occupants were Nigerians if the car did exist.

Making a categorical statement, the government said that if it is found that a Nigerian was actually responsible as the clip, then such a person will face the full wrath of the law.
