The Department of State Security (DSS), has issued a fresh invitation to a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Obadiah Mailafiya.
Recall that the DSS had earlier interrogated Mailafiya over his claim that a northern governor was sponsoring Boko Haram.
Mailafiya’ lawyer, Barrister Bawa Ba said that his client is expected to be at the DSS office Jos, Plateau State on Monday, August 17.
According to Barrister Ba, the invitation “was a buildup to the previous one, it is a process with security agents. It is normal for further discussion.”
Recall that the former CBN deputy governor had on Monday, August 10, during a programme on a radio station based in Lagos alleged that the commander of Boko Haram is a governor of one of the Northern states.
According to him, the group plans to instigate a civil war in the country in 2022. Following the allegation, the DSS in Plateau state on Wednesday, August 13, grilled him for hours after which he was allowed to go home.
Mailafiya, later explained the source of his information, adding that he got his information from traders he met in a local market.
