Armed bandits have killed three people in separate attacks in Giwa and Zango Kataf Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, on Monday, February 1.

In Giwa, the bandits attacked Garawa village of Fatika District and killed one Alhaji Sa’adu. They raided another village named Anguwar Danyaya in the district and killed one Suleiman Audu.

In Zango Kataf, the bandits killed one John Isah and injured three others during an attack at Wawan Rafi village. The statement further disclosed that two AK 47 rifles were recovered along with over 43 rounds of ammunition from two persons, Malachi Akut and Gabas Gaje.

Part of the statement read: “Governor Nasir el-rufai expressed sadness on the report and prayed for the repose of the souls of the dead while wishing the injured ones speedy recovery. Investigations into the incidents are in progress.”

Recall that armed bandits recently killed an eight-month pregnant health worker along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway, after opening fire on a commercial vehicle travelling to the state.

The woman was killed while traveling to Kaduna from Birnin Gwari at a place called Zankoro before Unguwar Yako on Sunday, January 24.

The deceased’s cousin Aliyu Mahmud confirmed the incident and identified her as Aisha Yusuf, describing her as a dedicated volunteer health worker in Birnin Gwari community.
