Egba sons fete Tunde Lemo

Sons and daughters of Egbaland rolled out the drums to celebrate one of their illustrious sons, Rev. Tunde Lemo, the immediate past deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), on Friday, June 6.
Rev Lemo, was hosted to a grand reception in celebration of “an excellent Egba man.”
The reception which took place in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, was led by the paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo and other prominent personalities such as former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Obasanjo, who appointed Lemo in 2004, described him as “a thorough-breed Egba man who conducted himself in a dignifying manner while he occupied the office.”
In Oba Gbadebo’s words, “after he got the appointment, he promised that he won’t let us down and he never did.
In spite of the challenges of high offices, he kept in touch with the family and even when you call and he doesn’t pick, be sure that he will return your call. Nobody complained about him and so we are proud of him,” Adedotun said of the banker who was also the former Wema Bank managing director.
