President Bola Tinubu has lauded the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for their efforts in securing an electoral victory in Edo State.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu also extended his gratitude to Edo State party leaders and governor, highlighting that the victory reflects the people’s support for the ruling party’s progressive ideals, economic reforms, and its commitment to improving Nigerians’ lives.
The president urged Senator Okpebholo to view his triumph as a responsibility rather than a moment for celebration, encouraging him to exhibit magnanimity by reaching out to political rivals and working towards uniting the people of Edo State for its development.
Tinubu also commended the other candidates for their participation in the democratic process, noting that peaceful elections like the one held on Saturday showcase Nigeria as a stable democracy. He further advised those dissatisfied with the election results to seek redress through legal means.
Additionally, Tinubu praised the people of Edo State for their orderly and peaceful conduct during the election, highlighting the progress of Nigeria’s democracy over the past 25 years.
“I commend INEC and our security agencies for their dedication in ensuring a successful, peaceful, and largely hitch-free exercise,” the statement concluded.
