The Adams Oshiomole-led faction of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has picked Osagie Ize-Iyamu, as it’s consensus candidate in the forthcoming Edo State governorship election.

Recall that Ize-Iyamu,  a former candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), contested the 2016 Edo gubernatorial against Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Ize-Iyamu however defected to the APC in December 2019, and with the blessing of the APC national chairman Oshiomhole, he is now ready to contest the election.

The pastor was reportedly picked after a meeting with other aspirants and some party chieftains in Abuja on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, Ize-Iyamu has picked his expression of interest and nomination form for the governorship primary election.

The Edo governorship election has been scheduled for September 19
