Jimoh Ibrahim’s dreams of becoming the next governor of Ondo State might have ended up like the mirage it always was.

Having picked a nomination form to contest the November 26, 2016 governorship election in the state from the factional National Chairman of the party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff in Abuja on Thursday, Ibrahim was cut to size by the State’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to the Ondo PDP, Ibrahim is a member of the Accord Party and not the later.

The Director of Media and Publicity of the PDP in the state, Mr. Ayo Fadaka stated this while reacting to a report that Jimoh has obtained the governorship nomination form in Abuja.

Fadaka said, “I can confirm to you that Jimoh Ibrahim is not a member of our party, the PDP, he has since been rid of his membership and we all know that he is a bonafide member of the Accord Party. So, for him not to be making a somersault to pick a form of PDP is a shameless thing anybody can do in this situation.

“Also I want to confirm to you again that Jimoh Ibrahim, apart from the fact that he is not a member of our party, he does not have any relationship with the PDP in any case and if he is taking a form from Sheriff, he confirms to the entire world where Sheriff is coming from.”

Interestingly, reactions that have been pouring in have not been on the side of the controversial businessman.

Many are wondering why Ibrahim is being pushed around by parties and why he is feigning allegiance to a group he hardly belongs to.

Questions that have trailed Ibrahim’s ambition include how he intends to govern a state when he has hardly succeeded as a businessman.

Ibrahim is popular for running down some of the most successful companies he has acquired in the past. The salary owed by his companies is legendary, as questions after question continue to trail his ambition.
