Nigerian actress, Genevieve Nnaji, has stated that it is not enough to disband the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), adding that corrupt police officers be dismissed.
The actress took the position following the EndSARS protest that has been going on in the country for a while against police brutality.
Speaking on the issue, the popular thespian submitted that it is hard to believe that the government is indeed listening.
According to the actress, there has been no dismissal, arrest or charging of police officers who are guilty of harming innocent protesters in the past few days.
“We don’t believe you are listening when nobody has been dismissed, arrested, and charged for the murder of innocent protesters and citizens.”
Nnaji stated that accountability on the part of the government is the first step to change.
