Hardly has a bold smile been spotted on the face of former Speaker, House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, since an alleged fraud case leveled against him
by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Those close to him claim the reality of his not returning to office, coupled with his been prosecuted for fraud took its toll on him. However, the dark-complexioned man enjoyed a moment of relief and happiness on Friday February 14, when he was discharged and acquitted by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.
After Justice Evoh Chukwu’s ruling on the case, Bankole was spotted shaking hands and hugging his loyalist and flashing his once famous smile, which he was used in his days as Speaker.
The new situation of things no doubt will set the pace for new political developments in his life.
