Nigerian singer, Davido has reacted to people calling him out for saying the country’s economy is in shambles.
Recall that the singer had during an interview on an American radio station said that people based in the diaspora should not return to their country because the economy is not too good back home.
Davido said:
‘’‘Leave America and go where? Go back where? It’s not cool back home. My country now, the economy is in shambles. ’The exchange rate is messed up. A lot of stuff not going well. The economy is not just good anymore. The pil prices are too high. Imagine a country that produces oil. We produce the oil and we paying more money for oil than a country that imports the oil,” he said during the interview.
Nigerians such as actor Patrick Doyle and Television Continental (TVC)’s presenter, Akashat Ny’ma who felt Davido was demarketing the country called him out on social media.
Reacting to the attacks, the ‘Assurance’ singer took to social media to taunt his critics. Davido said that his critics are all mad because he is a real ambassador of Nigeria.
He also said that his accent was demure during the interview, adding that he felt good while addressing the issues.
The singer called out TVC for the position of one of its presenters who condemned him for demarketing Nigeria.
