Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari has urged Nigerians to be fair in their criticism of his administration.
President Buhari urged the elites in the country to look at the situation of the country before the assumption of the All Progressives Congress-led government.
According to a statement by the presidency, President Buhari made the call on Thursday, January 14 when he received a delegation from the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission.
He said: “Those criticising the administration should be fair in terms of reflecting on where we were before we came, where we are now and what resources are available to us and what we have done with the limited resources.”
The president, however, noted that his government needs to be more proactive and preemptive in ensuring that such incidents do not become a norm. He said his government is fully aware of its responsibility to protect the lives and property of all Nigerians, adding that they will not relent in learning and adapting to changing threats to national security and civic wellbeing.
Recall that President Buhari had promised to bring an end to the country’s challenge of insecurity in 2021.
