It was a tearful Christiano Ronaldo, who stepped out to receive his award when announced as the 2013 winner of the prestigious FIFA Ballon D’or award.
The Real Madrid player and former Manchester United footballer was named as the world’s best player at a gala ceremony which held on Monday evening with notable football faces in attendance.
Ronaldo, thanked his Real Madrid and the Portuguese National team mates, family and everyone that has supported his career so far.
The Ex-Man United player beat Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Bayern Munich’s Frank Ribery to grab the award for the second time.
He first won it with Manchester United in 2008 after the club won the UEFA Champions League beating Chelsea at the finals in Russia.
