President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo have been administered the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
The president was vaccinated on Saturday, March 6, by his personal physician.

His vaccination was followed shortly after by that of Vice President Osinbajo who was also vaccinated by his personal physician.
The vaccination of the Nigerian leaders which took place at the new Banquet Hall at the Presidential Villa was televised.
Recall that the federal government flagged-off the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination exercise at the National Hospital, Abuja on Friday, March 5.

The exercise commenced after the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman, Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, officially declared the event open. The vaccine had already undergone a final assessment by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control.
