Reports reaching our desk indicate that Shettima Ali Monguno, a former Minister of Petroleum , has been kidnapped. Monguno was abducted on Friday by some gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members in Maiduguri, Borno State capital. He was reportedly picked by the gunmen shortly after observing his Friday prayers at Mafoni Mosque in the city. No group has come out to claim responsibility for the abduction, but there are strong indications that Boko Haram group must have carried out the act. Monguno also served as an Internal Affairs Minister and as a Federal Commissioner for Trade and Industries.
