Naira Marley’s latest dance, Soapy, has been condemned by stakeholders in the dance industry.

Adedayo Liadi, former president of Guilds of Dancers Nigeria (GDN), and the creator of Ijodee Arts knocked the dance and its creator.

He said he was not happy seeing people who call themselves professional dancers doing the erotic dance.

Ijodee said: “I am not happy seeing people that call themselves professional dancers doing erotic movements, later kids will learn it and begin to practice the same dance.

“I stand with Nigerian dancer Kafayat Shafau-Ameh popularly known as Kaffy in condemning such dance.

“This kind of dance is condemned by the Guild of Dancers Nigeria.”

Further, he said: “I have nothing against Naira Marley or his kind of music, my concern is with the soapy dance he posted online which has gone viral now.”

Ijodee called on the government and regulatory agencies to ban soapy dance, adding that it should not be seen by children.

“Is that the kind of dance they want children to dance to? And I learnt that some children have started dancing it. I want government regulatory agencies to ban the dance,” he said.

Recall that Afeez Fashola popular as Naira Marley recently debuted a new dance to promote his single titled Soapy. The dance which has gone viral online is done by imitating the act of masturbation and fondling of a naked woman’s breast.

Recall that dancer and choreographer, Kaffy had earlier described the now viral Soapy Dance as disgusting.
