The Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye has stated that there is no going back on the ban of sachet alcoholic beverages, adding that “it is time to think of our children”.
Adeyeye stated this in a Zoom interview monitored on the NTA breakfast programme, Good Morning Nigeria.
Reacting to the recent protest by the Organised Labour as regards the ban on the beverages, Adeyeye noted that NAFDAC is business- friendly and had put in place a five years moratorium with the Ministry of Health, adding that it was time to consider our children.
It has been speculated that the ban on sachet alcoholic beverages will lead to the loss of an estimated 500, 000 jobs.
