Anambra State: APC Boulstered As Massive Defection Hit Rival Party

The All Progressives Congress (APC), has received the injection of new members with the defection of six members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to the party.

The six members of the Anambra State House of Assembly elected on the platform of APGA were received by the Yobe State Governor who is also the Chairman APC Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee Mai Mala Buni, at a brief ceremony at the Imo Governors Lodge, late on Tuesday.

The lawmakers include Timothy Ifedioramma, representing Njikoka 1, Cater D. N Umeoduagu, representing Aguata 1, Edward Ibuzo, representing Onisha North 2, Hon. Nonso Okafor, representing Nnewi North,Lawrence Ezeudu, representing Dumekofia, Arthur Chiekwu, representing Idemmih North.

Governor Buni while receiving the new APC members, reiterated the party’s determination to win the Anambra governorship election hence the zeal in engaging critical stakeholders in Anambra state.

He said, “Mere looking at what is happening, especially now that so prominent and serving state lawmakers have started joining, the grassroots is moving and Anambra people are moving to the APC.”

The Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma on his part said the South-East people have woken up and the region is committed to national politics and be part and parcel of Nigeria.

Governor Uzodinma, therefore, expressed confidence that his party will win Anambra state governorship election.

The defectors said the APC is the preferred political party in Nigeria.

They promised to mobilise support towards victory in the November 6 governorship polls.

Present also at the event are the Governors of Lagos, Osun, and Kogi.
