All Eyes On Goeffrey Onyema

Published

Godfrey Onyema

The scorecard of Goeffrey Onyema, Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister during President Muhammadu Buhari’s first term was hardly impressive.

Then, Onyema allegedly showed a carefree attitude towards the spate of a lot of Nigerians living abroad.

Many would remember how Abike Dabiri, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Diaspora Commission pulled strings and ensured the safe return of thousands of Nigerians from Libya.

But same cannot be said of Onyeama, as he was heavily criticised for not breaking a sweat for his fellow countrymen and women despite knowing the ordeal they were facing.

Not even the near-death experience of Zainab Aliyu, the Nigerian student said to have been set up by a drug-smuggling syndicate in Kano moved Onyema.

Many would argue that this was what saw him heavily criticised when he was re-appointed to his previous office.

Fatoyinbo

Nothing equals a pure heart. It needs no defence or retribution, as nature always fights for it.

There are those who think that Biodun Fatoyinbo, founder of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), poses a pure heart.

In the past months, he has been swimming in an ocean of allegation and abuse, having been alleged of rape by Busola Dakolo, wife of musician, Timi Dakolo.

Maintaining his innocence, the stylish man was disowned by his spiritual fathers and mothers who had earlier vowed to stay with him through thick and thin.

However, the man found solace where many had least expected. A court quashed the allegation brought against him, citing the issue was status bared.

While there are those who hold the opinion that Fatoyinbo has only succeeded in deferring his day of judgment, there are those who maintain the man’s pure heart will continue to fight for him, as he continues with his ministry.
