An appointment to replace a person formerly occupying an office would naturally be full of expectations. This is factual.

Hence, when Mele Kolo Kyari was appointed as the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), to replace Maikanti Baru, many wanted to see what he would bring to the table.

Expected to hit the ground running, Kyari is yet to make any out of the world changes in NNPC.

Though his appointment only became full-fledged on July 20, many argue that he ought to have started leaving footprints of the indelible marks he hopes to leave on the sands of time.

Cubana Chief Priest React To Rape Allegation Against D’banj, Zoro

There have been reactions to the several cases of celebrity rape emanating in Nigeria.

One of the reactions is coming from night club owner, Cubana Chief Priest.

In a recent social media post, the club manager stated that rape victims who wait for a rapist to get rich or famous before speaking out are gold-digging.

He also appealed to parents to teach their children how to speak up to ensure justice is served because silence endangers others.

Orji Uzor Kalu’s Reprieve

The prison is definitely not a place for the wealthy and affluent.

But when circumstances lead a man of means to such a place, he can only hope for a way out.

One man who understands this analogy is Orji Uzor Kalu, the erstwhile Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North in the Senate.

Having been found guilty of allegedly stealing public funds, the man was sentenced to 12 years in jail.

However, reprieve came for him when a court ruled that his case was heard out of jurisdiction.

The situation has thus seen Uzor Kalu walking away a free man, at least for the main time.
