MOHBAD: Police Detain Naira Marley After Arriving Lagos

The Marlian Record boss was taken into custody upon his return to Lagos, Nigeria.

Recall that the Afribeat singer had been severally linked to the assault of late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba popular as Mohbad before his controversial death. Naira Marley who had left the country in the heat of reactions and counter reactions to the death of the singer famously known as “Imole” had said that he would return to the country and submit himself to the police if his safety could be guaranteed.

Confirming that the singer was now in custody, Lagos Police Command Spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin late Tuesday wrote, “Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley has been taken into custody for interrogation and other investigation activities”

Typically, Naira Marley is expected to assist the police in their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the demise of his former signee, MohBad.

While the singer has been accused of having a hand in Mohbad’s death, he vowed to clear his name and had before the police’s statement confirmed his arrival in Nigeria to help the probe into his former signee’s demise.

“I’d like to share that I’ve just arrived back in Lagos, Nigeria to assist the authorities with the ongoing investigation. It’s important I do my part for Imole. I’ll be meeting with the police with hopes for the truth to be uncovered and for justice to prevail.
