FG Commences N30,000 Grants For Taxi, Bus, Okada, Keke, Uber Drivers

Taxi, Bus, Okada, Keke Napep, Uber, Bolt drivers, and cart pushers across the country have started benefiting from a N30,000 grant from the federal government.
The grant which is available under the government’s artisan support scheme will see a total of 333,000 artisans and transport business operators nationwide will get one-time operations grant.
Reports have it that the grant is meant to reduce the effects of income loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The initiative is part of the transport support track under the Buhari administration’s MSME Survival Fund schemes for artisans and transporters handled by the office of the vice president.
Source say that the launch of the transport track last Monday, November 30 follows the successful take-off of the Artisans’ Support track on Thursday, October 1.
While the artisans’ track is under the Survival Fund, the transport track is a different scheme also under the fund.
A statement credited to Laolu Akande, spokesman of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo on Sunday, December 6, indicated that verified artisans have started receiving the N30,000 one-time grants, for Nigerians operating in the transport business.
Those benefitting from the initiative include rideshare drivers (Uber, Bolt, etc.), taxi drivers, bus drivers, Keke Napep riders, okada riders, cart pushers.
