Babatunde Fowler: Trapped In The Web Of Sleepless Nights?

There is no arguing the fact that life has been fair to Babatunde Fowler, at least until recently.

A man with all it takes to enjoy the good things of life, Fowler’s success story has almost become a myth.

Once the Chairman of the Lagos Inland Revenue Service (LIRS), he grew to become the boss at Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), eventually getting the recognition of Africa’s tax Czar.

But all of that was before he fell from glory having failed to meet the expectations of his bosses, and subsequently being relieved of his job.

Since then, he has become the ‘fall guy’, as every failure around the FIRS, has been tied to him.

Just when the man had thought that he had found solace in his cocoon, a major challenge surfaced, as he was invited for questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), over an allegation involving a tax firm, Alpha Beta Consulting.

Though the extent of Fowler’s involvement in the allegation being investigated by the EFCC is uncertain, it is indeed a fact that he will be having a lot of sleepless nights if found complicit in the matter.
