Godswill Akpabio’s Lion Heart
There was a time when to eat with the devil required a long spoon. Today, it requires a very long spoon.
This is something which Godswill Akpabio, a former Senator representing Akwa Ibom North-West and current Minister of Niger/Delta Affairs is aware of.
A newly appointed minister, many of his ilk would want to familiarise themselves with the job before taking a bold step.
However, not Akpabio, a man with a brave heart, he jumped into the thick of his responsibilities halting all payments for contracts executed by the immediate past management of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
Hinging his action on crazy expenses and debt accrued by the NDDC, Akpabio’s actions displeased a lot of people.
Despite this, the man has been unperturbed, as he continues his job steadfastly, even as commendation continues to pour in over his scorecard within his short period of appointment.
