Big Grammy Award Loss For Seun Kuti

The Grammy is no doubt a global platform to showcase talent, as more often than not the world is watching.
To have the opportunity to perform on the stage of the premiere event of the Grammy is also heartwarming.
Legendary African musicians such as Angélique Kidjo and Youssou N’Dour are aware of what an opportunity like this can offer.
Seun Kuti would have been expected to also know what this could do to his music career. If it couldn’t showcase him to a global audience, it would have added to his profile.
However, the leader of the Egypt 80 Band failed to take advantage of the opportunity offered by the chance to perform at the award.
Like a greenhorn, the Afrobeat singer missed his rehearsal, blaming his late arrival to the event on flight ticket mix up.
While his fans didn’t get to watch their icon perform on one of the biggest stages, the artist also suffered a personal loss, as he lost the category in which he was nominated.
He suffered a Grammy Award Loss to South Africa’s Soweto Gospel Choir.
