Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to zone the 2023 presidential ticket to the South-South.
He stated this on Saturday, March 20, in Benin, the state capital while attending a reception ceremony in honour of Chief Dan Orbih, the new PDP national chairman for the region.
Obaseki said it will amount to equity and fairness if the South-South is allowed to produce Nigeria’s next president.
Obaseki said the South-south will not accept any foul play in the PDP with regards to zoning the 2023 presidential ticket
“Presidency must come back to South-South and you must go round the country to let them know that we can’t be cheated. We expect you to deliver the presidency to the zone.”
Governor Obaseki’s view about zoning the presidential ticket to the South-South was also supported by the deputy governor of Edo, Philip Shaibu.
