2019 Elections: How EFCC Arrested Vote-Buying Syndicate

Vote-buying syndicates at polling booths were arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

According to the EFCC, Musa Umar, 38 years, from Dukku Local Government, Tudun Wada Ward was arrested at a polling unit in Waziri North of Dukku Local Government bribing a police officer the sum of N3,000.

Umar claimed that Babangida Bappah Chiroma, 31 years, from Dukku Local Government, Waziri North Ward, gave him the sum of N20,000 for vote buying in the ward.

Also arrested was Abdulkadir Yusuf Rasheed, 55 years, from Dukku Local Government, Waziri North Ward. He was arrested around the same area in Dukku.

Musa Umar claimed the chairman of Dukku Local Government Area, Babangida gave him the sum of N100,000 for ward delivery to the PDP party agents.

IbrahimAbdul, 49 years, from Akko Local Government, Bomala Ward, was arrested at bomala polling unit, Bomala Primary School. He is a PDP agent and was arrested with the sum of N17,000 intended for vote buying.
