Popular Nigerian actor, Yemi Solade, has indicted actresses in the movie industry driving luxury cars.
Solade said no actress can legitimately afford a Mercedes-Benz G-Class, popularly known as a G-Wagon, from funds accrued from acting alone.
Solade noted that the Nigerian film industry simply doesn’t generate the kind of money that can fund such luxury.
“None of my female colleagues can buy a G-Wagon from acting. The industry doesn’t pay that much.
“Acting alone can’t fetch you that kind of money. Maybe from producing, yes, but not from acting. Except they have side hustles because how much are they going to pay you for one role? 50 million?” Solade asked.
He went further, suggesting that some of the exotic cars flaunted by actresses may have come through other means:
“Some are gifts, I want to believe so. Yes, now, dem fit gift person G-Wagon.”
It is no secret that several actresses in Nollywood drive some of the most exotic cars.
Iyabo Ojo’s car collection is said to include a Range Rover, a Lamborghini, a Mercedes-Benz, and a Rolls-Royce. She received a Range Rover as a gift from her goddaughter in 2020 and has been seen stepping out of other luxury cars like a Rolls-Royce. It is not known if this particular vehicle belongs to her or her man friend, Paul O.
Seven years ago, Lizzy Anjorin picked a Range Rover. In 2021, it was reported that she had acquired a Mercedes G-Wagon. Genevieve Nnaji drives a Range Rover Evoque, a Mercedes G-Wagon and a Range Rover, while Funke Akindele is believed to drive a Jeep Wrangler, Rolls-Royce, and a Ferrari.
On her part, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde reportedly owns a gold Rolls-Royce Phantom. Rita Dominic owns a Mercedes-Benz ML 350, and Tiwa Savage’s collection features a Rolls-Royce Phantom, a Bentley sport utility, a Bentley’s first electrified car, and a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Boss.
Popular actress, Linda Ejiofor, has a 2020 Range Rover Autobiography and a Bentley Mosani.
