The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Moshood Jimoh has explained why the security operatives attached to the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Lasbat Meranda were withdrawn.
Recall that several news platforms had reported earlier today Thursday, February 27 that the Lagos Police Command withdrew the security details attached to the Speaker’s office and her residence.
However, explaining why the operatives were withdrawn in a press conference, Jimoh who announced that all four personnel attached to Meranda had been restored added that the development was part of a police audit.
He added that the removal of security details from the Speaker and other Very Important Personalities (VIPs) in the state was part of an ongoing audit of Police personnel and firearms.
Jimoh also mentioned that this audit is not exclusive to Lagos, as similar operations are being conducted in other states’ Police Commands.
