Popular Nigerian singer Timaya has once again expressed his reservations about the institution of marriage.
In a video circulating on social media, the singer, whose real name is Inetimi Timaya Odon, was seen in the company of fellow music stars Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P, and Phyno, when he shared his views on relationships and family life.

During the conversation, the ‘Sanko’ crooner advised young men to focus on having children rather than prioritising marriage, suggesting that the institution does not always work as expected.
“Just have children. The children will grow. This marriage thing doesn’t work,” he said in the video.
Timaya’s comments echo sentiments he previously expressed in June 2022, when he hinted that he might never get married.
In a post shared on his X account at the time, the singer noted that Jesus Christ did not get married, adding that he considered himself “Christ-like,” a remark many interpreted as suggesting he might also remain unmarried.
The award-winning musician, known for several hit songs over the years, is a father of four children from three different women.
