Onos Brisibi, a former singer with the band of Lagbaja and cousin of Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, has passed away at the age of 55.
The gospel artiste, who was also known for her contributions as a soundtrack vocalist in Nollywood films, died on March 23, 2026, after a prolonged illness.

Before her death, Brisibi’s voice featured in several classic Nollywood productions, including “Domitilla” and “Blood Money”, where her distinctive sound helped shape the emotional tone of the films.

Her family confirmed her passing in a statement issued on Thursday, March 26.

According to the statement, the gospel artiste was a devoted Christian whose music and ministry impacted many lives. She was also described as a joyful and warm-hearted individual.
“The Brisibi family announces with deep sorrow the passing of Esteemed Sister Onos Nancy Brisibi, who transitioned to glory on March 23, 2026, after a protracted illness,” the statement read.
“Onos Nancy Brisibi was a devoted Christian, a gifted songstress, and a passionate praise and worship leader whose voice touched many lives as she spread the gospel through music.
“She will be remembered as a beautiful, fun-loving woman with a heart of gold, whose faith, warmth, and kindness left lasting impressions on all who knew her.”
The late gospel artiste is survived by her daughter, Sarah Brisibi, her mother, siblings, extended family members, friends, and her church family at LoveWorld Ministries.
