Nigerian singer Skales has described former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad as a “terrorist sympathiser” following a social media exchange over recent violence in Plateau State.
Skales, whose real name is Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, criticised Ahmad over his reaction to comments made by U.S. missionary Alex Barbir regarding a deadly attack in Jos.

Earlier on Sunday, Barbir shared a video on X (formerly Twitter), calling out President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over fresh attacks in Jos, Plateau State. The incident reportedly occurred hours after Christians marked Palm Sunday, with more than 10 people confirmed dead.
In his post, Barbir accused the President of inaction, stating that Tinubu was in Aso Rock “doing nothing,” while also alleging that authorities continue to deny claims of a targeted pattern of violence against Christians in Nigeria.

Responding to the post, Ahmad accused the U.S. missionary of spreading hate and called on security agencies to investigate and possibly arrest him.
Skales, reacting to Ahmad’s position, took to his X handle to express strong disapproval. The singer criticised Ahmad for what he perceived as a lack of empathy for victims of the attack, arguing that the focus should have been on those affected rather than the missionary’s comments.
“You are nothing but a terrorist sympathiser and your end will be celebrated, you fool,” Skales wrote.
The exchange has since drawn mixed reactions online, with some users supporting calls for accountability over the Plateau killings, while others cautioned against inflammatory language in public discourse.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement addressing the latest attack in Jos as of press time.
