Recklessness: Seyi Tinubu Flies Presidential Jet To Watch Polo Games In Kano

One of the biggest problems associated with governments in Nigeria is the ever increasing cost of running it.
It is the same with the last administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari and the current President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu
Since the current government came to office in June 2023, it has taken three loans from world organizations with the most recent being from World Bank and worth $700 million. The loan was meant to support the Nigerian government’s education programmes, especially for girls.
Prior to that, the same government had obtained a loan of $750m to boost Nigeria’s power sector and another of $500m to help Nigeria drive women’s empowerment.
Basically, what this means is that the government is shot of funds to run it’s affairs.
However, be that as it may, it has not stopped the first son, Seyi Tinubu, from blowing millions of tax payers money on frivolities such as flying a presidential jet to Kano to watch polo games.
Over the weekend, the younger Tinubu was flown into Kano with a presidential jet to watch Polo games, and this act has seen many describing it as a total waste of public funds.
Interestingly, this comes in the wake of Nigerians lamenting hardship from a review of policies in almost every sector in the country including the removal of fuel subsidy.
