Dr. Ope Banwo, the convener and founder of a global and nonpolitical organisation Naija Lives Matter (NLM), l has called for the sack of Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Banwo called for Oloyede’s sack following a press conference held in Abuja, on Wednesday, May 14, during which the professor reportedly burst into tears and apologized for the trauma caused the candidates.
Oloyede’s apology came after widespread condemnation over the poor organisation of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a post on X, Banwo called for Oloyede’s sack, adding that he should resign, as he has done his bit.
The lawyer and techpreneur who stated that the scandal was of massive proportion, noted that it is irrelevant if Oloyede resigns today or tomorrow, adding that he should not be allowed to conduct JAMB in 2026.
