His unfortunate demise comes two days after he marked his 90th birthday on July 5.
It would be recalled that Oba Olakulehin was officially installed as Olubadan on July 12, 2024, when he received his staff of office from the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde.
Before his ascension, Oba Olakulehin held the prestigious title of Balogun Olubadan, and emerged as the next in line following the passing of his predecessor, Oba (Dr.) Moshood Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, who died on March 14, 2024, at the age of 81.
Born on July 5, 1935, Oba Olakulehin lived a long and impactful life.
Though the reign of Oba Olakulehin was brief, Ibadan indigenes and the Yoruba race across the globe have been paying tribute to a monarch who embodied the dignity and strength of the Olubadan institution.
