In a statement sighted by The Octopus News, the organisation led by Dr. Edna Ubebe refuted the allegation posted online by Dr. Akintide, claiming Dr. Ubebe is holding on to the balance of his refund over a reversed business transaction.

In the statement, Ojaja Park set the records straight, describing the allegation as baseless and a deliberate attempt to smear the image of its organisation and that of its leader, Dr. Ubebe.

Furthermore, the statement said it’s strange that anyone would come out to level an allegation against Ojaja Park or Dr. Ubebe over any transaction, adding that the organisation and its officials are deliberate about being transparent and upright in all they do.

Ojaja Park admitted there is indeed a 2.5 million naira balance, a refund from an 82.5 million naira payment made to Akintide. However, it also stated clearly that the said balance is meant for the documentation and other necessary processes that were carried out to perfect the sale of the property ab initio. It added that 3 per cent of the entire sum of any transaction is for documentation, which is a standard practice that was made clear and agreed upon by Akintide from the beginning.

The statement added that it’s shocking that Akintide is now turning around to demand the same 3 per cent after all the funds that needed to be refunded had been made available to him.

Concluding, Ojaja Park stated categorically that neither the organization nor its head, Dr. Ubebe, is holding any money meant for Akintide and therefore has no payment to make to him. The company urged Akintide to desist from peddling lies about Dr. Ubebe and Ojaja Park, while vowing to resist with appropriate action should he fail to desist.

Meanwhile, a source close to the matter told The Octopus News that Akintide demanded a refund for the property he purchased after he declared to the management of Ojaja Park that his children wanted him to live in America, and as such, there was no need to buy a property in Nigeria for the sole purpose of living there.

The source further revealed that Akintide confessed he decided to buy a property at Ojaja Park due to the availability of basic amenities like water, electricity, and most importantly, security, because he cannot afford to be kidnapped at his age.
