Obong Umana Okon Umana defects to APC
Former Secretary to Akwa Ibom State Government, Obong Umana Okon Umana, is set to defect from the ruling People Democratic Party (PDP), to the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC).
www.theoctopusnews.com, can reliably inform you that Obong Umana will officially declare his intention on Thursday, November 26, at Asan Ibibio grounds.
The former SSG who had already bought the PDP nomination form and expression of interest form felt aggrieved that the party at state and national levels was clearly in favour of an aspirant from Eket Senatorial District.
To achieve his ambition of been the next governor of the state Obong Umana is now set to defect to the APC.
Udom Emmanuel, the immediate SSG who succeeded Umana is said to have been penciled down by Governor Godswill Akpabio and enjoys the support of majority of the state’s politicians. If Obong Umana gets the APC gubernatorial ticket he would not only be contesting with Udom Emmanuel, but will want to prove a point to his former boss, Akpabio.
