Oba Of Benin Appeals To Nigerian Youths Not To Protest

The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewaure II, has joined the long list of Nigerians urging the country’s youths not to protest.
Several bodies are planning a nationwide protest slated for August 1, 2024, to showcase the hardship in the country.
The 10-day nationwide hunger and hardship protest across the country is aimed at drawing the federal and state governments’ attention to the plight of citizens.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Osaigbovo Iguobaro, the monarch noted it takes a while for things to get better and appealed to Nigerians to give the current administration time to implement its economic policies expected to alleviate the present hardship.
“For things to get better, it has to be tough for a while.”
The monarch also appealed to the federal government to intensify efforts in implementing its economic and security policies.
Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has appealed to Nigerians to give him more time to accomplish his plans for the nation.
