Popular screen diva, Angela Okorie, has unveiled an unpopular side of singer, Naira Marley.

Sharing an experience from the past, the thespian said Naira Marley was too nice to her.

Stating that the entertainment industry is demonic and people envy you for no just reason, Okorie, who recently ventured into music, recounted the musician’s kindness and support during her music journey.

Sharing a heartfelt video on her social media handle, the outspoken entertainer praised Naira Marley for showing her a level of support and generosity that is rare in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

“One of these my birthday, about three or four years ago, Naira Marley surprised me.

“He gave me lots of money. I was shocked. The encouragement he gave to me, nobody has ever given it to me in this demonic industry where people just envy you for nothing,” she recalled.

Okorie also revealed that the gesture came at a time when she was promoting one of her songs. According to her, no other celebrity had ever supported her efforts the way the “Soapy” crooner did.

She went on to narrate how she visited him afterwards to thank him for attending her birthday party. During that visit, she noted they collaborated on a song, an idea Naira Marley accepted.

“He even promoted the song by himself. Naira Marley was too nice to me. He doesn’t even talk. He’s not a fighter,” Okorie added.

The actress’s comments come amidst ongoing calls for a probe into the singer’s alleged involvement in the harassment of his late former signee, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

Mohbad passed on in 2023 under unclear circumstances; however, before his death, he publicly accused Naira Marley and his associates, Sam Larry, of bullying and harassment.

In February 2025, the Yaba Magistrate Court cleared Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and Primeboy of any involvement in the death of Mohbad.

The court reportedly hinged its decision on legal advice from the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), which stated there was insufficient evidence to link the trio to the singer’s death.

The court, however, maintained there was a prima facie case against Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who administered an injection to Mohbad before his death, and Ayobami Sadiq, a friend of Mohbad, for reckless and negligent acts.

Interestingly, since his death over two years ago, Mohbad remains unburied, as his father, Joseph Aloba, continues to seek justice for his late son.
