Africa’s growing community of Christian filmmakers is set to receive a major boost as the International Christian Visual Media (ICVM), in partnership with the Christian European Visual Media Association (CEVMA), announces MediaSphere Africa, a one-day virtual training event scheduled for January 24, 2026.

The online programme, which will be streamed across the continent, is designed to equip African Christian filmmakers with practical skills and global insights in filmmaking, production, distribution, emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, and television content creation. The initiative is being delivered in collaboration with several Christian film and drama organisations across Africa.

MediaSphere Africa targets both emerging and established creatives, offering participants the opportunity to learn directly from leading Christian filmmakers, producers, and media professionals from around the world—without geographical barriers. Organisers say the event aims to strengthen storytelling excellence while expanding the reach and influence of faith-based films produced in Africa.
Speaking on the initiative, ICVM President, Mr. Paul Sirmons, described MediaSphere Africa as a transformative platform for Christian creatives on the continent.
“MediaSphere Africa is not just a training event; it is a launchpad for African Christian storytellers to elevate their craft and amplify their impact,” Sirmons said. “Our goal is to equip creatives with the tools, knowledge, and professional networks they need to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving media landscape.”
The programme will feature hands-on film production workshops, expert-led sessions on film and television producing, and practical discussions on how technology and artificial intelligence are reshaping modern filmmaking. Participants will also receive guidance on distribution strategies aimed at helping African content reach broader regional and global audiences.
Beyond training, MediaSphere Africa is expected to foster meaningful connections among Christian creatives, encouraging collaboration and peer learning across borders.
ICVM is a global organisation dedicated to empowering Christian storytellers to produce media content that informs, inspires, and transforms communities worldwide. Through training, mentorship, and networking, the organisation supports creatives seeking to use visual media as a tool for faith-driven impact.
CEVMA, on the other hand, represents a network of Christian film and media professionals across Europe, promoting excellence, collaboration, and faith-centred storytelling. The association is known for its annual conferences and the CEVMA Jewel Awards, which celebrate outstanding achievements in Christian visual media.
MediaSphere Africa is open to all Christian creatives across Africa. Interested participants can register via www.mediasphereafrica.com.
