Singer, Lojay has taken a not too popular position on how artists who lose at award ceremonies should behave.
It is becoming popular to find artists bashing organisers of award shows after losing in a category in which they were nominated.
In a recent interview, Lojay said while it’s normal to feel some type of way after losing out, artists need to remember that professionalism should always come first.
It would be recalled that the 17th Headies Awards was marred by verbal attacks on the organisers, as some artists didn’t take their inability to win an award lightly.
Shallipopi, who bagged an award, still went online to vent his displeasure, going as far as swearing never to attend the ceremony again.
Lojay who feels it was not a show of professionalism said, “Everybody can get emotional about stuff for particular reasons, and that’s okay. I just feel like at the end of the day, you’re meant to be a professional artist, so don’t let your emotions take control.”
“I don’t think it makes sense to start trashing an award show just because you did not win.”
