How Actress Peju Ogunmola Lost Only Child

Veteran Nollywood actress, Peju Ogunmola, is bereaved as you read.

 

The actress, who is popular for her roles in many Yoruba movies, lost her only son, Ayomikun.

Though the circumstances that led to the incident remain unknown, sources in the movie industry have revealed that the actress’s son, who was 24 years old, died after an accident in the bathroom.

Chubby and bearded Ayomikun reportedly slipped and fell in the bathroom and was rushed to the hospital, but died.

Since information regarding the incident surfaced, actors and actresses in the industry have been taking to their social media to express their condolences, while those based in Ibadan, Oyo State, where the actress resides, have been visiting to console her.

Ogunmola is one of the most revered and respected actresses on the big screen, featuring predominantly in the Yoruba genre of the industry.

She is married to Sunday Omobolanle, a Nigerian comic actor, playwright, film director, and producer. She is also the stepmother of Sunkanmi Omobolanle, who is also an actor.

Also, the mother of the bereaved was the daughter of veteran Nigerian dramatist, actor, mime, director, and playwright, Kola  Ogunmola, who was also regarded as one of the most brilliant actors in Africa in the 1950s and ’60s.

From Okemesi in Ekiti State, the veteran actress lost her brother, Yomi Ogunmola, a well-known Yoruba actor, in 2003.

She has credit for her roles as a comedic performer, playwright, director, and producer in films such as Maradona (2003), Mafi wonmi (2008), Toromade (2009), Apaadi among others.
