Herdsmen: Southeast Governors Take Big Step

Governors in the Southeast have taken a decision on criminal herders, and kidnappers in the region.
This is as Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State told the security agents to flush out all criminal elements in the southeast forests.
Umahi made the order on Monday, February 1, in Abakaliki at the All Progresive Congress (APC) stakeholders meeting which held at the Ecumenical centre.
He said that the movement of cows by foot has been banned in the zone.
Umahi, who is also the chairman of the Southeast Governors’ Forum, said the zone had since banned the movement of cows by foot, calling the leaders to exhibit patriotism in their conduct to guarantee unity.
He urged leaders and stakeholders of the zone to speak up and desist from playing politics with the security of the zone and nation. The governor said that the governors of the southeast had banned open grazing and movement of cows by foot into the zone.
