Fubara Orders Withholding Of Monthly Statutory Allocation To Local Government

Governor Sim Fubara has ordered the withholding of monthly statutory allocation to all local government chairmen in Rivers State.
The order follows an endorsement of the call by the states All Progressive Congress (APC) for the impeachment of Fubara.
21 out of the 23 local government chairmen in the state called on President Tinubu to intervene in the impass between the state governor and the Minister of the Federal Capital, Nyesome Wike.
Applauding Rivers APC for calling for the impeachment of Governor Fubara, the chairmen said he withheld allocation of the LGAs since April and has also refused to convene the Joint Account Allocation Committee Meeting (JAAC) which is the prerequisite for the release and disbursement of funds between the state and LGAs.
